REGISTER NOW TO BE A HOST FOR THE LONDON SWING FESTIVAL
Email Janet at: janetwhiley@hotmail.com
Being involved in a housing program for a swing festival is a fun and rewarding experience whether you are the person providing housing or the person being housed. This is a great way to meet dancers from other cities and countries who you know you will see again at other events around the world. It provides you with a great sense of being a part of a world wide community.
Housing is open to any out of town dancers who have registered and paid for the London Swing Festival. While every effort will be made to house as many people as possible priority will be given to those dancers who have registered and paid for the full weekend Gold Pass.
How do I register to be a host?
There will be many dancers looking for a home at LSF and if you are able to offer a place to sleep, we would love to hear from you. Simply send an e-mail to janetwhiley@hotmail.com to register as a host and she will be in contact with you shortly.
What do I need to offer as a host?
All you need to do as a host is offer a dancer somewhere to sleep for the duration of the London Swing Festival (27 to 31 May 2010). Somewhere to sleep could include a spare bed, mattress, couch or even a spare section of your floor (preferably with a mat or air bed). While you are not expected to feed you guest it is great to offer your visitor breakfast in the morning (toast and plenty of coffee usually) and some advice on how to get to the workshop or party venue.
What do I need to do as a visitor?
You will need to indicate on your registration form that you are in need of housing. When you are matched with a host we would suggest that you contact your host to find out what you need to bring with you.
Obviously we would request that you do not treat your host like their home is a hotel. You host has been kind enough to let you stay in their home and it is always nice to respect their space.
